Mobile Little Chefs is our signature cooking enrichment program — a delicious blend of culinary arts, nutrition science, math, reading, and cultural exploration that turns every recipe into a learning adventure.
We bring the kitchen to you! Our mobile cooking program visits schools, libraries, birthday parties, summer camps, homeschool groups, and family events throughout Durham and the surrounding area. Children don't just cook — they learn the science behind every ingredient, the math in every measurement, and the culture behind every dish.
Who Is This For?
Available for children ages 4–11. We bring all supplies, equipment, and ingredients — you just provide the space and the hungry little chefs!
What Children Experience
Culinary Arts
Real cooking skills — chopping, mixing, measuring, and plating — taught in a safe, age-appropriate way that builds confidence in the kitchen.
Nutrition Science
Children learn where food comes from, how nutrients fuel the body, and how to make healthy choices they'll carry for life.
Math in the Kitchen
Fractions, measurement, counting, and estimation come alive when children are measuring ingredients for a real recipe.
Reading & Following Directions
Recipe reading builds literacy skills, sequencing, and the ability to follow multi-step directions — all while making something delicious.
Cultural Exploration
Every recipe is a passport — children explore cuisines from around the world and develop appreciation for diverse cultures and traditions.
Kitchen Safety
Age-appropriate knife skills, food safety, hygiene, and kitchen rules that build responsibility and confidence.
